Texas summers are notoriously intense, but the heat isn’t slowing down the vibrant creative pulse here in North Texas. This month, downtown Sherman is becoming an evening haven for artists, makers, and art lovers alike. If you’ve been looking for a reason to step out, reconnect with your creative spirit, or discover exceptional regional talent, look no further than **ARTrageous Art Hub** located at 223 S. Travis Street.

The Hub’s owner, Chele Wells, has intentionally adapted to the changing season by shifting the gallery's schedule and introducing an exciting lineup of evening activities designed to keep us inspired when the sun goes down. Her mission is simple yet profoundly vital for all of us navigating our own creative paths: she wants to encourage us to keep creating, keep exploring, and keep sharing our work with the world.

Every single month, I exhibit my work alongside a brilliant collective of about twenty local member artists in a dedicated gallery space at the Hub, continuously updating our displays to share fresh perspectives. This collaborative ecosystem is a beautiful testament to what happens when artists lift each other up.

### A Double-Header Opening Night: Saturday, June 13th

The crown jewel of this month's calendar falls on **Saturday, June 13th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm**. It is going to be an incredible, art-filled evening as the Hub hosts two major exhibitions simultaneously:

* **My Solo Art Exhibition:** I am incredibly honored to invite you all to the opening reception of my brand-new Solo Show! This exhibition represents months of deep, personal work. I will be unveiling pieces from my *Divine Multiples Internal Life Series* alongside expansive landscapes from my *Appalachian Range Series*. It’s an intimate look into my ongoing creative evolution, and I would love nothing more than to share it with you in person.

* **Gainesville Area Visual Arts (GAVA) Art Show:** Sharing the spotlight that evening is the GAVA Art Show. As a proud member of GAVA myself, I can promise an exceptional, diverse showcase of visual artwork from some of the most talented creatives in our wider regional community.

### Art After Dark & June Calendar of Events

Because daytime temperatures can be draining, ARTrageous Art Hub is officially launching **Art After Dark**—a summer-long initiative running through June, July, and August. These evening workshops, hands-on experiences, and casual gatherings offer the perfect opportunity to learn something new and connect with fellow creatives in a cool, comfortable environment.

Ruth Williamson is a contemporary landscape artist whose evocative work in gouache and watercolor on wood panels or paper captures the serene yet powerful essence of natural vistas. Deeply rooted in the dynamic spirit of Fauvism, Expressionism, Impressionism, and Surrealism, her style is a unique synthesis that explores the emotional and inherent beauty of both rugged and expansive landscapes.

The Vision: Cosmic Cycles, Equity, and Renewal

Williamson draws inspiration from the rich and varied terrains of the United States and the British Isles, with a particular focus on the American West, the vibrancy of the skies, and the fluid grace of flowing streams and waterfalls. Her aesthetic is defined by a bold, distinctive approach to color and light, one that often blends hues not typically found in nature. She views color as the heartbeat of her art, using it to create a tapestry of familiarity and imagination.

At the core of her artistic vision is a deep reflection on the sacred cycles of creation, destruction, and renewal—the eternal rhythm of birth, death, and potential rebirth that pervades the Cosmos and the natural world. Her work seeks to capture this possibility of regeneration amidst decay, offering a lens through which to view hope and resilience.

In an exciting evolution of her creative vision, Williamson partners with Le Galeriste to transform her vibrant artworks into high-end wearable fashion and home accessories. This Wearable Art initiative ethically adapts her expressive paintings to soft, high-quality fabrics, allowing collectors to experience the life and energy of her original compositions on casual clothing.

Her art is conceived as an act of resistance against authoritarianism and the existential threat to liberty, championing a message of equity, liberty, and justice. By focusing on the foundational ethics of inclusion, her work aims to inspire conscious appreciation and active participation in moving toward a more harmonious, equitable world.
