About the Artwork
Aureole is the sixth installment in the Spiritual Messengers Series, an ongoing visual exploration of internal landscapes, sacred symbolism, and the threshold where physical form meets divine energy.
In religious iconography throughout history, an aureole represents the full-body cloud of celestial light that envelops a divine presence—a radiant signifier of a entity carrying news from the unseen realms. In this piece, an abstract angelic figure emerges directly from a dynamic, fiery vortex of gold, crimson, and amber light.
Sweeping, prismatic wings—rendered in saturated bands of cerulean, violet, emerald, and vermilion—stretch across a backdrop of cool, atmospheric blues. Using deliberate edge control and layered opaque white, the figure’s left wing holds a sharp, structural edge against the sky, while the right wing edge dissolves seamlessly into the burning solar orb. The result is a striking, living balance between physical weight and ethereal illumination.
